The UT chapter recently took 60 students to APhA2009 Annual Meeting in San Antonio.  While there, student pharmacists attended leadership seminars, debated policy and resolutions, and celebrated the accomplishments of APhA-ASP.  Several also attended the Politcal Action Committee Breakfast and heard from Representative Charlie A. Gonzalez (D - TX) about upcoming healthcare reform and pharmacy's role within that process.

The University of Tennessee was well represented this year.  Brent Reed served as the APhA-ASP President; Julia Underwood placed in the Top 10 in the National Patient Counseling Competition; and outgoing Chapter President Josh Ogle was elected National Member At Large.  The Chapter brought home four awards: The National Patient Care Award, The National Immunizations Award, The Region 3 Operation Diabetes Award, and a Project Chance Grant.
