UT APhA-ASP Chapter President Josh Ogle has announced his intention to run for Member at Large at the APhA Annual Meeting in San Antonio this April. In a recent email to the UT chapter, Josh commented: "One of the most important functions of this meeting is the election of National Executive Committee Officers that will represent student pharmacists all across the nation. I'm really excited about this opportunity to serve not only student pharmacist from our chapter, but all chapters! I feel that leadership opportunities I have experienced within APhA-ASP and other student organizations have prepared me well for this role."
Ogle, a third year student-pharmacist, has been involved in many aspects of APhA-ASP on the local, regional, and national level during his time at the University of Tennessee. He has served at a P1 Member at Large, President-Elect, and President of his local chapter; Region 3 Member at Large; and has been selected for a National Standing Committee for the upcoming year. He is passionate about furthering the profression of pharmacy and committed to constantly improving upon the foundation APhA-ASP provides for student pharmacists across the country. Josh Ogle's Goal Statement: With a great debate occurring over the future of health care in the United States, student pharmacists are in a unique position to embrace their role as providers of patient care and positively influence the direction of their profession. To prepare us for these opportunities, APhA-ASP empowers student pharmacists with the resources necessary to become active practitioners and professional advocates. As APhA-ASP National Member-at-Large, I would serve as an advocate for the Academy’s efforts to advance the profession of pharmacy by investing in its future. I would accomplish this by focusing on the two major responsibilities of this office: communication and education. Through dedicated hard work and collaboration, I would strive to establish innovative educational opportunities and work to enhance current programs. In addition, I would increase student pharmacists’ knowledge of APhA-ASP through promotion of effective communication strategies. Serving this Academy has been one of the great privileges of my professional career. It has allowed me to experience the selfless dedication that student pharmacists have to the future of this profession. It would be an honor to advocate for theses efforts and further the Academy’s mission by serving as APhA-ASP National Member-at-Large |
