Operation Self-Care

Operation Self-Care is a committee dedicated to helping patients take control of their health and well-being. We focus not on one area of a patient’s health, but every aspect of life that can play a role. It is our mission to show patients how to maximize their health and treatments by giving them the knowledge and tools to do so.

Our committee covers a vast range of care. We do everything from educating patients about how to minimize disease flare-ups, to showing a mom how to properly wrap up her child’s sprained ankle. With our committee, the sky really is the limit, and we are excited to see how far we can go!

This past year, Operation Self-Care lost its national funding and recognition, so this year we are headed into uncharted territory! The committee is planning fundraisers in the coming year to fund and expand the services that we will be able to provide to patients.

Current projects for the upcoming year include teaming up with Christ Community, holding regular information sessions at the YMCA downtown, and working to have EBT cards accepted at the local farmers’ market.
